Reps. Bryan Posthumus, of Cannon Township, and Tom Kunse, of Clare, today announced they have formally requested an investigation by the House Committee on Ethics and Oversight into a potential misuse of power by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).
“The Democratic majority is doing whatever they can to pass a tax hike onto families and small businesses throughout Michigan. This bill was written in secret, efforts were made behind the scenes to strong-arm members, and Republicans weren’t allowed to stand up for Michigan taxpayers and speak against this — violating our right to debate.”
“It’s an honor to continue serving families in Kent County,” Posthumus said. “My staff and I are already hard at work serving the hardworking taxpayers here. I look forward to another term of service and bringing our West Michigan values to the Capitol.”
