State Rep. Doug Wozniak on Thursday was appointed by Speaker Matt Hall, R-Richland Township, to serve as chairman of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, vice chair of Families and Veterans, and as a member of the Judiciary and Regulatory Reform Committees.

“Governing over state regulations and rule-making authority is one of the most important jobs a lawmaker can have,” said Wozniak, R-Shelby Township. “I’m honored that Speaker Hall entrusted me with committee assignments that will allow me to delve deeper into Michigan law and ensure it’s working for the public, not the other way around.”

Wozniak, a small-business owner and practicing attorney at his own law firm, said he is looking forward to leaning on his wealth of knowledge regarding Michigan legal mattersto deliver quality results for the public.

The longtime lawmaker was first elected to serve in the House in November 2018. He was re-elected in November 2024 to represent the 59th House District after serving in the state Senate. His district includes portions of Macomb and Shelby townships in Macomb County.
