Rep. Wortz selected to 2027-2028 House leadership team
RELEASE|November 6, 2026

State Rep. Jennifer Wortz has been elected by her colleagues to serve as the Republican Deputy Whip in the Michigan House of Representatives in the 104th Legislature.

The caucus whip is a job of critical importance in communicating key information among legislators. Wortz, along with whip Rep. Bill Schuette, will inform colleagues about important issues and decisions coming up on the House floor to continue moving Michigan forward. She will also serve as a liaison between caucus leaders and other members, tracking votes, and assisting legislators with policy-related questions.

“This role is centered around listening, building relationships, and working together toward a common purpose,” said Wortz (R-Quincy). “It’s an important opportunity to be a strong voice for good policy and lowering costs in Michigan. We must remain focused on the priorities that matter most to the people we represent.”

Elected to her second two-year term on Tuesday, Wortz will represent the 35th House District, which includes the City of Hudson in Lenawee County, as well as all of Hillsdale and Branch Counties.
