State Rep. Tom Kuhn (R-Troy) has been named a ‘2026 Legislative Champion’ by the statewide Michigan Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs of America in recognition of his work supporting youth development and expanding opportunities for young people across the state.

Legislative Champions are policy leaders who have demonstrated a strong commitment to improving outcomes for local children and strengthening programs that help young people succeed in school and in life.

“This honor means a lot coming from an organization that does so much to support young people and families in our community,” Kuhn said. “The Boys & Girls Clubs across our state provide safe spaces, mentorship, and educational opportunities that help kids reach their full potential. That is the sort of important work I want to partner with and support.”

Prior to his work in the state House, Kuhn spent years in the southeast Michigan community coaching and organizing youth sports and volunteering in the community. After becoming a state representative, Kuhn took on a leadership role on the House budget committee, where he helps direct state spending related to both improving healthcare outcomes for families and the budget plans for higher education and local community colleges across the state.

“We all want to help the next generation be successful and help us build even stronger communities,” Kuhn said. “The Boys & Girls Club does great work supporting Michigan’s next generation of leaders, and I’m glad to help in any way I can.”
