Rep. Jenkins-Arno praises new Select Committee’s defense of Michigan workers
RELEASE|January 15, 2025

State Rep. Nancy Jenkins-Arno (R-Rollin Township) issued the following statement following the first meeting of the Michigan House of Representative’s newly formed Select Committee on Protecting Michigan Employees and Small Businesses, in which they heard testimony on House Bill 4001 and 4002, which restore protections of tip wages and reasonable minimum wage and paid leave requirements on small businesses.

“I was encouraged to see that these issues, which are so important to small business owners and employees in Lenawee County and across the state, were taken up so quickly by the House Republican Majority. The hours of testimony that the committee heard this week showed how passionate our people are about preserving our current tip wage and paid leave levels. It’s important to listen to our own people who are directly affected by these issues, rather than outside interests that are trying to impose their values on our state.”
