Several highly qualified experts on digital assets and blockchain management will be travelling to Lansing on Tuesday to testify before the House Committee on Communication and Technology, offering their vast knowledge and in-depth insight to the committee members. The committee chair, State Rep. Jaime Greene (R-Richmond), has invited these very experienced specialists to the capital the same day that the Michigan House will be taking up her commemorative resolution for Digital Asset Awareness Day.
“As legislators, we should be seeking every possible opportunity to hear from experts on the policy issues we’re working on, especially when it comes to an issue as important as digital assets,” Greene said. “In recent years, we have witnessed explosive growth in the digital asset and block chain industry. This is an incredibly critical topic, and we are fortunate to be able to hear from some of the most knowledgeable and perceptive authorities on it.”
Testifying at Tuesday’s committee meeting will be the following individuals:
- Tyler Lindholm, Former Chair of the Wyoming Blockchain Task Force
- Lee Bratcher, Member of the Texas Blockchain Council
- Dr. Edward Longe, Chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council’s Communications and Technology Task Force
- Jake Morabido, Director of the American Legislative Exchange Council’s Communications and Technology Task Force
The committee hearing will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 13th in Room 327 of the Anderson House Office Building. In addition to presiding over the meeting on Tuesday, Greene will also be speaking on the House floor in support of her resolution declaring May 13th, 2025, as Digital Asset Awareness Day in the state of Michigan.
“The rapid evolvement of digital technology offers so many exciting opportunities, but also needs guardrails,” Greene said. “We cannot afford to be complacent about both the immense potential, but also potent dangers of the technological progress on this front. My goal for tomorrow is for all my colleagues to leave Lansing more knowledgeable and more insightful about blockchains and cryptocurrencies, and I’m confident we’ll be able to accomplish that with the help of the brilliant experts coming to testify.”
