State Rep. Ken Borton, of Gaylord, announced he will host local office hours in Roscommon on Friday, March 24.
The meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at Beechwood Café, 406 N. Fifth St. in Roscommon.
No appointments are necessary to attend office hours. Those who are unable to attend but would still like to share their thoughts with the representative may call his Lansing office at (517) 373-0829 or email [email protected].
Borton represents the 105th House District, which includes Crawford, Missaukee, Otsego and Roscommon counties, as well as portions of Antrim, Kalkaska, and Oscoda counties.
State Rep. Ken Borton on Friday criticized Democrat-sponsored proposals that would repeal health, safety, and reporting standards for abortion clinics, pay for elective abortions with taxpayer funds, eliminate informed consent requirements, and permit partial-birth abortion – an extremely unpopular late-term abortion procedure.
Rep. Ken Borton today expressed support for the Pure Michigan campaign that promotes tourism in Northern Michigan and condemned drastic cuts made to the program by Lansing Democrats.
“Democrats in Michigan are undermining public education and disregarding what’s best for our students,” said Borton, R-Gaylord. “I’ve discussed this with other parents in Northern Michigan who simply want to ensure their kids have access to the best possible education that gives them the knowledge and abilities necessary to succeed in life. That is my priority. This plan strips away much-needed accountability in our schools while lending a hand to union bosses.”
