State Rep. Ken Borton today celebrated President Donald Trump’s recent announcement of new federal funding for ice storm relief.
The announcement comes after a long effort by Michigan House Republicans to secure federal disaster relief funding in the wake of ice storms that devastated the communities of northern Michigan in 2025.
“This is a massive win for the people of northern Michigan,” said Borton (R-Gaylord). “Michigan House Republicans have been working tirelessly to secure this victory, and today we can celebrate. The ice storms caused unprecedented damage to these communities. Today, these people still need our help, and the announcement from the president today offers hope. I’m proud to work with President Trump to deliver significant relief to the communities up north that are too often overlooked by state agencies.”
