State Rep. Jaime Greene is hosting a local event to bring leaders, parents and legislators together to help craft a comprehensive parental bill of rights.

Greene, R-Richmond, invites local parents to attend her “Let Parents Parent” workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at New Life Christian Church, 4411 Newark Road in Attica.

Attendees will be given an opportunity to share experiences and ideas with Greene, who is working on legislation to establish clear rights for parents in the areas of education, health care and digital privacy.

“In today’s world, parents are often left out of crucial conversations that directly impact their children’s lives,” Greene said. “From education and medical decisions to digital privacy, parents too frequently find themselves on the sidelines, even though they are the ones who know their kids best. Parents have a right to be the primary decision-makers for their children’s welfare – and our state laws should reflect that.”

For more information about the workshop, call Greene’s office at (517) 373-1775 or email [email protected].
