State Rep. Jeff Yaroch has been appointed by Speaker Lee Chatfield to serve on the House Appropriations Committee during the 2019-20 legislative session.

Yaroch, of Richmond, will chair the House subcommittee charged with setting the budgets of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and the Department of Insurance and Financial Services.

“It’s a great privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility of serving on our state’s budget committee,” Yaroch said. “We must never forget that tax dollars belong to the taxpayer, not the government. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure that our state government is working for the people while living within its means.”

Additionally, Yaroch will serve as vice chair of the Transportation budget subcommittee, and as a member of the Judiciary and Health and Human Services budget subcommittees.
