State Rep. Scott VanSingel, of Grant, issued the following statement after the governor’s State of the State address: 

“I was pleased to hear the governor acknowledge our crumbling infrastructure and continued need to invest in education, but I would have liked to hear more specifics on how she envisions addressing those issues while maintaining a balanced budget. We must find fiscally sound solutions for Michigan families that solve these issues without raising taxes or growing a deficit.”

“We can find common ground on many of these issues and provide meaningful reform to our drivers and students. I look forward to working with my colleagues to finding bipartisan solutions to the critical issues facing our state.”
