Lawmaker will chair panel during 2019-2020 legislative session

State Rep. Daire Rendon of Lake City will chair the House Insurance Committee for the 2019-2020 legislative term.

Rendon is currently in her second term representing the 103rd House District, which includes Crawford, Kalkaska, Missaukee, Ogemaw and Roscommon counties.

“The cost of insurance policies for an average Michigan family is profound when compared to their budgets, and it has become an untenable situation for such families and other individuals across the state,” Rendon said. “I am committed to working with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to put forth plans that stop taking money from the pockets of hard-working Northern Michigan residents and also better fit their needs.”

Rendon also has been appointed to serve as the vice-chair of the House Families, Children and Seniors and Select Committee on Reducing Car Insurance Rates committees, and serve on the House Judiciary and Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation committees during the 2019-2020 legislative session.
