Rep. Lightner resolution honors public safety telecommunicators
RELEASE|April 17, 2019

The Michigan House today overwhelmingly approved a resolution proposed by state Rep. Sarah Lightner to recognize April 14-20, 2019 as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Michigan.

House Resolution 67 recognizes the important role telecommunicators have in the safety and well-being of a community. They are often the first point of contact in an emergency, and their professionalism and accuracy are critical in helping police officers, firefighters, and paramedics safely and effectively do their jobs.

“Telecommunicators are on the front line of public safety,” Rep. Lightner said. “They are counted on by thousands of first responders and Michigan citizens facing difficult situations. Their hard work saves lives on a daily basis, and they deserve our appreciation and respect.”
