State Rep. Phil Green today applauded Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s declaration of a state of emergency in response to the recent flooding in Tuscola County.
“The administration’s prompt response will help ensure our community is receiving the assistance necessary to recover from the damage caused by the heavy rainfall,” Green said. “I want to thank Governor Whitmer for working with our county officials to address the needs faced by the local recovery effort. I’d also like to share my appreciation for the folks on the ground in Tuscola County working diligently to repair our infrastructure and meet the needs of our residents.”
The flooding occurred after heavy rainfall in the area on May 25. Local emergency response and recovery plans were launched after Tuscola County declared their own state of emergency on May 28. The governor’s state of emergency declaration makes all state resources available to partner with local response and recovery efforts in the affected area.
