Rep. Glenn launches television segment highlighting local ‘hometown heroes’
RELEASE|August 2, 2019

State Rep. Annette Glenn recently debuted a weekly television series on Midland Cable Television (MCTV) titled “Hometown Heroes”. Every few weeks, Rep. Glenn will sit down with local community leaders, non-profit volunteers, and individuals who make a significant difference in the lives of others in Midland and Bay counties.

“We are fortunate to have an incredible community full of people who work hard to help others and improve the area they live in,” Glenn said. “My goal is to recognize the unsung heroes living and working alongside us and shine a light on the wonderful work they are doing.”

Each ‘hometown hero’ will come to Lansing for a video shoot and spend time with Glenn in her office and on the House floor during session. Dialogue on any challenges faced by the guest or their organization is highly encouraged, and the representative wants to hear what can be done to remedy those.

Guests thus far have included Greg Dorrien from West Midland Family Center, Sharon Mortensen from the Midland Area Community Foundation, Jennifer Grace and Craig Varterian from the Arnold Center, Aland Stamps from River Jordan, and Nancy Wolanin from the Midland Foster Closet. Episodes will air on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Charter Spectrum channel 191 or U-Verse channel 99.
