State Rep. Ann Bollin of Brighton Township today issued the following statement in response to the governor’s State of the State address:

“Gov. Whitmer says impatience is a virtue – and I can’t help but wonder if she came to that conclusion while waiting in line at the Secretary of State.

“The fact is, the people of Michigan are losing patience with this administration and its inability to deliver on its promises. The governor’s road plans are not realistic, and neither are the secretary of state’s claims that she’s meeting her promise to get people in and out of branches in 30 minutes or less.

“I am more than happy to work with the governor on a realistic road funding plan – but putting it on a credit card for taxpayers to worry about later is not the answer. It’s part of the problem. We’re still paying $200 million each year on bonding debt from nearly two decades ago. The people of Michigan deserve a real roads plan – a plan that prioritizes government spending instead of increasing the burden on our current and future taxpayers.”
