Michigan House agriculture chair, Rep. Julie Alexander, tonight issued the following statement on a new federal water rule eliminating overreaching regulation while protecting our resources.

“The former federal water regulations Waters of the United States (WOTUS) were overreaching and caused uncertainty for our nation’s farmers.”

“I commend President Trump for seeing through, in a deliberative process, his promise to agriculture by creating these new common-sense rules. The Navigable Waters Protection Rule (NWPR) is a realistic balance for farmers and land owners that offers certainty for our agricultural industry.”
