Voted NO on HB 4224- Eliminating Michigan’s Medicaid Work Requirements

  • Michigan taxpayers deserve a system that respects taxpayers by helping struggling families get out of poverty while remaining employed and working toward self-sufficiency
  • The current work requirements take into consideration people with young children, people with disabilities, pregnant women, and others who would have difficulty meeting the requirements
  • Current law also only requires part-time work and includes community service, school, or even just looking for a job

Voted NO on HBs 4127-28- Ban on Firearms at Election-Related Locations

  • This legislation is completely unnecessary
  • Voter intimidation and brandishing a firearm in public are already illegal
  • If anyone were to threaten a voter or an election worker with a gun they could already be charged with a felony under existing laws
  • These bills instead force lawful gun owners to choose between their right to vote and the Second Amendment

Voted NO on 5450-5451- Safe Firearm Storage Guidelines

  • School districts should not be responsible for having to distribute information on the safe storage of firearms
  • Requiring schools to send these notices takes money and staff time that could be better spent making sure students are learning
