Rep. Woolford criticizes democrat lawmakers for urging military to disobey orders
RELEASE|November 20, 2025

State Rep. Jason Woolford (R-Howell) today criticized a video released by six Democrat members of Congress telling the military not to follow the president’s orders.

“This kind of public statement is an attempt to turn citizens against the military and to destabilize the government,” said Woolford. “As someone who has served in the U.S. Marine Corps, I understand how crucial a clear chain of command is to keeping our nation stable. Our men and women in uniform deserve respect and support. They should not be used as political pawns and should never be encouraged to question the authority of the President without proper legal grounds.

“For years, Democrats have worked to strip police officers of credibility and undermine trust in law enforcement. Now, six members of Congress, including Senator Elissa Slotkin, are trying to do the same thing to our military. Demonizing the very people who protect our communities and defend our country is dangerous. It creates confusion, chaos, and weakens the institutions that safeguard our freedom.”

The video released by these lawmakers has sparked national concern. Critics have warned that their message blurs the lines of civilian control over the military and creates confusion among both service members and the public.

“Telling the military to ignore orders is behavior that many would associate with being a traitor,” said Woolford. “It is especially alarming because these six individuals once served in federal positions, and they know how serious it is to maintain discipline and order within the military system. Their actions are reckless and harmful to the stability of our nation.”
