Rep. Whiteford: Support for vulnerable residents should be priority during governor’s upcoming address
RELEASE|January 25, 2022

State Rep. Mary Whiteford, of Casco Township, issued the following statement ahead of the governor’s 2022 State of the State address, which will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 26:

“It is my hope the governor will discuss her plans to continue supporting the most vulnerable residents in our state, including victims of human trafficking, children, seniors, and those battling mental health challenges.

“I also hope she will mention the priorities that were determined by our bipartisan Adoption and Foster Care Task Force, such as expanding access to children’s health care needs, bolstering support for foster families and helping caseworkers. We need to hear about her plans to implement those recommendations in 2022.

“Our top priority should be standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves and making sure those individuals have the resources they need to thrive here in Michigan.”
