State Rep. Mark Tisdel, of Rochester Hills, today issued the following statement outlining his priorities for the legislative session after listening to Gov. Whitmer’s State of the State address:

“As we begin the new year, I appreciate the governor’s call to work on a bipartisan basis as it is important to keep Michiganders safe and promote policies that will help Michigan’s economy recover by supporting small businesses and the employees who depend of them.

“Parents, students, employers and employees in our district are hurting. They are frustrated and they fear what the next months will bring. Job providers need certainty and consistency from state government. Parents deserve to have their kids return to school and play competitive sports in a safe environment.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Legislature and the governor on limiting the spread of COVID-19 and getting our economy back on track. It is vital that we pass a balanced state budget that uses taxpayer dollars wisely. We must make smart investments to expand and improve vaccine distribution, fix local roads and bridges, and protect our Great Lakes.

“While the road ahead remains a challenge, I will work hard to achieve positive results for Michigan families.”
