Jim DeSana, state Sen. Joe Bellino, and various local officials and advocacy representatives, discussed mental health across Monroe County, resource allocation, community engagement and support services to ensure people in need are getting care, and more.
“Access, funding and partnerships are keys to getting people needed care and addressing gaps that may exist in our state and local mental health systems,” said Thompson, who represents Berlin and Frenchtown Townships in Monroe County as part of the 28th House District. “These discussions were incredibly informative to gain a better sense of what’s working and what isn’t for groups and officials who specialize in this work. We must continue to support our vulnerable communities and seek real solutions. I’ll continue fighting for the health and well-being of our families in the Legislature, and conversations like this help tremendously.”
