State Rep. Donni Steele on Wednesday took the ceremonial oath of office as a state representative in the Michigan House. Clerk Gary Randall administered the oath in the state Capitol in Lansing on the House’s first day of session. Pictured here at an earlier date is Rep. Steele; her husband, Phil; mother, Marlene Taube; sister, Suzanne Taube; and son, Colton Steele.
Steele looks forward to helping address the concerns of local constituents while working to improve schools, promote safe communities and strengthen Michigan’s economy.
Steele represents the new 54th House District, which includes portions of Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Oakland Township, and all of Orion Township.
State Rep. Donni Steele on Monday reiterated her opposition to the wasteful, unsustainable budget funded by an impending tax hike and crafted by the majority — a budget that fails to invest in the priorities of Michigan families.
“Cramming unnecessary pork projects into the state budget at the last minute is an insult to Michigan taxpayers and a waste of their dollars. We can and must do better for the people of Michigan,” said Steele, who serves on the House Appropriations Committee.
