Representative Bill G. Schuette today welcomed the state champion Midland Northeast Little League baseball team to the state Capitol in Lansing, as well as coaches and parents from the team.

The hometown champions were given a tour of the state Capitol and welcomed onto the floor of the State House of Representatives by Representative Schuette.

“We are incredibly proud of the Midland Northeast Little League team and their tremendous triumph this season,” Schuette said. “Their hard work and determination truly paid off in bringing home a state championship trophy to Midland. It was my honor to present them with an official state tribute and recognize them at our Capitol today.”

In their championship game in Petoskey in July, Midland Northeast defeated Paw Paw 5-4 in a dramatic walk-off victory, delivering Midland its third-ever Little League Baseball major state title.
