State Rep. John Roth, of Interlochen, announced he will host local office hours in May in Antrim, and Manistee counties, including two “after the workday” sites.
The meetings take place at the following times and locations:
Monday, May 15
Elk Rapids District Library; Noon – 1 p.m.; 300 Isle of Pines Dr., Elk Rapids
Friday, May 19
Arcadia Township Hall; 5 – 6 p.m.; 3422 Lake St., Arcadia
Friday, May 26
Kaleva Village Hall; 4 – 5 p.m.; 9208 Kauko St., Kaleva
No appointments are necessary to attend office hours. Those who are unable to attend but would still like to share their thoughts with the representative may call his Lansing office at (517) 373-1766 or email [email protected].
“An elderly woman in my district had a roadkill deer land on her property,” Roth said. “After contacting her county road commission, she was told that the road commission was not allowed to move the deer, and to contact the DNR. After contacting the DNR, she was told to bury the deer in her yard or put it in a trash receptacle. As you can imagine, these tasks were nearly impossible for a woman in her 80s.”
Additional oversight of economic development projects funded by state tax dollars is more vital than ever after two projects with ties to the Chinese Communist Party received state approval.
