State Rep. Ron Robinson (R-Utica) reaffirmed his commitment to Michigan’s veterans by advocating for the creation new grant funding initiatives and support programs for non-profit veterans’ organizations like VFWs, and American Legions.

Rep. Robinson serves as chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Affairs.  A major focus of his advocacy this term is the creation of a grant program to fund much-needed renovations and repairs in American Legion outposts and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) halls across the state.

“As a veteran, I know first-hand how important these spaces are,” said Robinson. “All across our state, veterans are in need of support. Organizations like the VFW and American Legion are steady, charitable fixtures in our communities. From hosting fundraisers to organizing local clean-ups, these veterans continue serving long after their active duty ends. It’s time we return the favor by investing in the spaces they rely on to gather, organize, and support their neighbors.”

“Every Michigander has an organization like this in their community, and most are in dire need of updates,” said Robinson, “It’s my goal to help them continue the great work they do in our communities and to make sure our vets have a comfortable location to share space with their fellow servicemen. Veterans have done so much for this nation; I aim to return the favor.”
