Rep. Pat Outman today honored his legislative office intern, Cameron Butler, in the House chamber as his time serving in the Michigan House concludes.
Bulter, a local resident from Stanton, first connected with Outman to pursue a job shadow opportunity last year. The 18-year-old college student attending Purdue Global Online later expressed interest in interning in the representative’s office.
“Cameron has been an exceptional addition to our office and has served the people of the 91st House District well during his time here,” Outman said. “We wish him well as he embarks on his military career and look forward to our paths crossing again.”
In addition to his academic pursuits, Cameron enlisted in the U.S. Army in December and will begin his six-year service as an 11B Infantryman in April. His long-term goal is to become a Judge Advocate General attorney, utilizing the Funded Legal Education Program to achieve this ambition.
“My time working in the state House has been both enlightening and rewarding,” Butler said. “I hope to return and continue contributing to the legislative process in Michigan after completing my military service.”
Butler was presented with an official state of Michigan seal recognizing him for his service to the people of Michigan.
Rep. Outman’s office will have future internship opportunities available. Interested parties should contact his office at (517) 373-3436 or [email protected].
