State Rep. Mike Mueller was recently named the 2021 Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police.

Mueller, a retired sheriff’s deputy, is serving his second term in the Michigan House representing people in southern Genesee County and northwest Oakland County. He was recognized, in part, for spearheading a plan to offer additional funding for local law enforcement agencies and provide more tools for officer recruitment and retention.

“Being recognized by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police is a huge honor,” said Mueller, of Linden. “As a former law enforcement officer, I understand the challenges that come with the job. My goal is to make sure our local police departments have the resources they need, so our men and women in uniform can go out and protect our communities.”
