In recognition of March is Reading Month, State Rep. Matt Hall is sponsoring reading and essay contests to encourage local students to hone their skills in literacy and creative writing. Winners will be hosted at the state Capitol to be “Representative for a Day”.
For grades 1 through 5, readers may submit their entries — including the number of pages — here.
For grades 6 through 8, students should create essays on their favorite Michigan memory. Entries should be no more than two pages and can be submitted here.
High school students are encouraged to write about a Michigan hero who inspires them. Entries should be three or four pages in length and may be presented here.
Further contest details are also available at each of the above links. Student submissions will be accepted through April 18. Those who have questions or concerns should feel free to reach out to Rep. Matt Hall’s office at 517-373-1784 or by email at [email protected].
