Rep. Bronna Kahle of Adrian today issued the following statement:
“I am thankful Governor Whitmer is safe and well.
“Like many of you, I was shocked and disgusted by reports from federal and state authorities that the FBI had uncovered a plot to harm our governor and members of law enforcement.
“According to the Michigan Attorney General, efforts uncovered elaborate plans to endanger the lives of law enforcement officers, government officials, and the broader public.
“Those who would do such a thing are un-American and a threat to our values and our way of life. Let us all pray for swift and severe justice to be served. Violence should never be tolerated.
“And thank you to the brave and dedicated men and women in law enforcement for uncovering this plot and keeping everyone safe. We deeply appreciate our heroes.”
“The governor and the Legislature can and should work together – always – to protect lives and livelihoods during this pandemic,” said Kahle, of Adrian. “These measures approved by the House will keep people safer, protect our most vulnerable, and better connect every citizen with their elected leaders at every level of state and local government. It’s strong action toward the continued safe, sensible reopening of Lenawee County and the entire state.”
A group of House Republican legislators today labeled the latest emergency order issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regarding indoor visitation in nursing homes as a step in the right direction, adding there is still more work to be done.
