State Rep. Mike Harris today invited residents of north-central Oakland County to schedule a meeting ahead of his office hours, which will take place on Friday, Dec. 8.
Harris, R-Waterford will host meetings with constituents from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Business Center at the Clarkston Independence District Library, 6495 Clarkston Road in Clarkston. Harris looks forward to meeting directly with people in the community to hear their thoughts and concerns, discuss his work in the state Capitol, and offer assistance with state government issues.
Constituents may reserve a time slot by emailing their name, home address, and contact information to Harris’ office at [email protected].
Constituents can also share their perspectives or seek assistance by emailing or calling 517-373-0828.
Harris represents the 52nd House District, which includes Lake Angelus, Clarkston, Independence Township, and portions of Springfield and Waterford townships.
“With emails, sales, banking transactions, and more all happening over the internet, it’s important to follow smart internet security practices,” said Harris, R-Waterford.
“Scheduling special elections on irregular dates will cost local governments in Metro Detroit, and the chaos of overlapping voting periods will heap burdens on local clerks, the area residents who work the polls, and voters,” Harris said.
“Dark days are ahead for Michiganders under these backwards new laws that will prematurely ditch reliable natural gas power plants and require vastly more wind and solar,” said Harris, R-Waterford.
“Carrying out the will of the voters to finally make elected officials reveal their personal finances was the Legislature’s number one job this year, and that’s why my Republican colleagues and I rolled out a real transparency plan months ago,” said Harris, who serves on the House Ethics and Oversight Committee.
