Rep. Mike Harris, R-Clarkston, has scheduled a local community office hour for Wednesday, July 27.
The session will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Business Center Conference Room of the Clarkston Independence District Library, located at 6495 Clarkston Road.
Harris represents the 43rd District in the Michigan House of Representatives, which includes Clarkston, Lake Angelus, Independence Township and part of Waterford Township in Oakland County. He won a special election to represent the district in May.
“I want to help Michigan become an even better place to live and raise a family,” Harris said. “Listening to you is an important part of that process, and that’s why I have scheduled this opportunity to discuss what matters to you most related to state government.”
Residents may contact the Lansing office at (517) 373-0615 or [email protected].
“Michigan’s sentencing laws protect victims and ensure dangerous criminals face justice, but this radical upheaval would obliterate fair, firm sentences that judges carefully determined according to the law,” said Harris, R-Waterford.
“At the local departments dedicated to protecting our communities, officer shortages weaken public safety closest to home, but House Democrats rejected a bold plan to boost recruitment and retention — twice,” Harris said.
