PHOTO INFORMATION: State Rep. Phil Green speaks at a Care Crisis event at the state Capitol on Tuesday, Oct. 3. The event highlighted past changes in Michigan’s no-fault auto insurance law that have had unintended consequences, including care providers leaving the industry and thousands of crash survivors who no longer have access to vital medical care.
Plans recently introduced in the Senate would work to address these implementation concerns.
“Many individuals have leant their voice to tell people this is how this law is affecting me,” said Green, who has been advocating for changes to the new no-fault law since the Legislature passed it in 2019. “Those voices are now being heard. Dripping water hollows out stone not through force, but through persistence. Since 2019, persistence from everyone here today has brought us to a point where we can deliver a fix to the fix.
“My goal since I ran for office was to represent people and their families. This is an issue that is impacting many people and families across our state, and it’s time to get this right so people can get the care they need to live a more enjoyable life.”
