State Rep. Phil Green today announced a new photo contest for residents of Huron and Tuscola counties.
The contest centers around the seasonal theme ‘Fall Fun in the Thumb.’ Winners will be chosen in the following four categories: fall harvest, foliage and wildlife, family fun, and fall décor.
“I really look forward to seeing the pictures that people submit,” said Green, of Millington. “Fall in the Thumb is one of the most beautiful times of year, and I look forward to this opportunity to see more of it through the photos that are submitted.”
Photos should be submitted by December 30th. Winners will be selected in early January. The winning photos will be displayed in Rep. Green’s office in Lansing.
Photos can be submitted to [email protected] or mailed to S-1188 House Office Building, P.O. Box 30014, Lansing, MI 48909. All submissions should include the name, address, and contact information of the individual entering the contest, as well as where the photo was taken within Huron and Tuscola counties.
For questions about the contest, please email [email protected] or call Rep. Green’s office at (517) 373-0476.
“My colleagues and I have tried to work with the governor to improve the state’s COVID-19 response from the very beginning,” Green said. “We’re still working, and the measures we approved today will help Thumb residents and their families in all sorts of ways.
Two of Rep. Phil Green’s major initiatives to help the Thumb – teacher retention and improved rural broadband – will receive additional resources through a budget plan approved by the Michigan Legislature.
Rep. Green talks about a House vote this week to approve the distribution of nearly $2.9 billion in federal funding to help unemployed Michigan residents support their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The measure approved by the Michigan House will provide an additional $300 a week in unemployment benefits retroactive to Aug. 1.
