Rep. Annette Glenn, R-Midland, issued the following statement today – two years to the day after dam failures caused massive flooding in the Midland area:
“I am inspired every day by the unity, strength and resiliency shown by our community. The signs of recovery are everywhere, and in the Legislature, we have worked to make historic investments aimed at preventing this type of disaster from ever happening again. But our work is not over. We have come a long way, but there is still a long way to go.”
Rep. Glenn says that Michigan motorists need more tax relief than the proposed three-month federal gas tax suspension would provide, noting that the Michigan Legislature has approved three tax relief plans this year, and that the Governor has vetoed every one.
