Rep. Steve Frisbie (R-Pennfield) has been appointed by Speaker Matt Hall to serve as vice chair of the House Finance Committee, which exists to deliberate on state tax policy, as well as policy issues affecting financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, payday lenders, and mortgage providers.

“The people of Michigan work hard to earn a living, and too often, politicians forget that tax revenues don’t belong to the government, they belong to the people,” Frisbie said. “I came to Lansing to stand up for Calhoun County’s hardworking taxpayers. That’s why I’m excited for this opportunity to serve on our Finance Committee. Whether working to reduce tax burdens or deliberating over policies governing investment companies and banks, I’ll be focused on ensuring Michiganders can spend and save their money as they see fit.”

Frisbie will also serve on the House committees on Energy, Health Policy, and Transportation and Infrastructure.

Local residents can tune into every committee meeting online, and can subscribe to committee notices via the Legislature’s website.
