RELEASE|July 15, 2021

State Rep. John Damoose today joined the Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity to recognize Kevin Christman as volunteer of the year.

“Habitat for Humanity does great work to provide affordable homes in our community, and that mission is only made possible by volunteers like Kevin Christman,” said Damoose, of Harbor Springs. “We in Northern Michigan are proud of Kevin’s dedication, dependability and diligence in service to his community.”

Damoose honored Christman, of Petoskey, for his volunteer efforts and presented him with a legislative tribute.

Christman was recognized by the Habitat affiliate for his reliability as a volunteer, working on construction sites and assisting with other projects. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Habitat counted on Christman when the organization faced a shortage of volunteers. Even as a relatively new Habitat volunteer, Christman has inspired staff and other volunteers with his cheerful work on the job.

The Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity meets housing needs in Charlevoix and Emmet counties. The affiliate helps families obtain affordable housing or maintain current homes with repairs.
