Without legislative action, new green energy mandates will force the generators to shut down.

State Rep. Karl Bohnak (R-Deerton) on Monday held a press conference with fellow Upper Peninsula legislators and the United Steel Workers in support of legislation to protect the U.P.’s 13 RICE generators.

“Our community is fast at work cleaning up the mess left behind by the flooding,” said Bohnak, R-Deerton. “These dollars would give our local officials the resources they need to continue recovery efforts and rebuild our critical infrastructure.”
