Rep. Bill G. Schuette Selected to Serve On Appropriations Committee
RELEASE|January 30, 2023

State Representative Bill G. Schuette was named to the House Appropriations Committee and will work to give people in Mid-Michigan a seat at the table when key legislation is discussed in the Legislature.

The appropriations committee is responsible for deliberations on the state’s annual budget and supplemental spending measures. In addition to serving on the full appropriations committee, Schuette will be the Republican vice-chair on the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs/Insurance and Financial Services Appropriations subcommittee, and as a member of the Environment and Great Lakes Appropriations subcommittee and on the Judiciary Appropriations subcommittee.

“The Appropriations committee is especially important now as we have more than an estimated $9 Billion surplus in our state budget. Now is the time to give financial relief to Michiganders via tax cuts and while also making select transformational investments – particularly here locally in Mid-Michigan with flood reduction infrastructure. I will be sure to pursue responsible, efficient spending of taxpayer dollars and find ways to return your money back to your wallets,” Schuette said.

“I am ready to get to work on these committees as they play a crucial role in making our state and region a better place to build your business, start your family and live your life. I remain committed to listening to you and supporting plans that put our community first and respect your hard-earned tax dollars.”

The 95th House District encompasses all of Midland County, as well as Beaverton, Billings and Tobacco townships in Gladwin County. You may contact Schuette’s office by calling (517) 373-0152 or emailing [email protected].
