PHOTO INFORMATION: State Rep. Matthew Bierlein, of Vassar, recently invited Mary Jo Tanner of Birch Run to Lansing after Tanner’s photo won first place in a winter photo contest hosted by the representative.
Tanner is a fourth-grade teacher at North Elementary in Birch Run. Her photo was of the Beyer Road Bridge in Frankenmuth.
The contest was open to people across the 97th House District, which encompasses several communities in Bay, Genesee, Saginaw and Tuscola counties.
Tanner was presented with a tribute and tour of the state Capitol. Her photograph has been framed and will be displayed in Rep. Bierlein’s office.
