Hall speaks on the House floor Wednesday afternoon prior to passage of the Unlock Michigan citizens’ initiative repealing the Emergency Powers of Governor Act of 1945 (EPGA), which the Governor used to issue restrictions unilaterally during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rep. Hall says the 1945 law effectively silenced Michigan residents.

LaFave talks about a two-bill package, including his HB 4539, which prohibits local units of government from enacting or enforcing “sanctuary” ordinances or policies that prevent local officials, employees, and police from communicating with federal officials.
