Rep. Albert, House panel meet in Jackson, tour correctional facility

State Rep. Thomas Albert, chair of the House Corrections Appropriation Subcommittee, asks a question during Monday’s committee meeting at the Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson. The committee heard a presentation from the Michigan Department of Corrections detailing the governor’s budget recommendations for the department. Following the meeting, committee members toured the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center, where all inmates are sent to be evaluated upon their entry into Michigan’s prison system, and the Duane Waters Health Center.
