It’s morning in America again, and I’m deeply honored to serve my district with a mandate to create real, meaningful change for our community. This victory isn’t just political; it’s personal. It’s about every family, every worker, and every community member that knows we can do better—and it’s about giving you the change you deserve.
The message voters sent this election was unmistakable: people were tired of being told things were fine when they knew they weren’t. Michiganders felt the weight of rising prices in every part of daily life—groceries, gas, utility bills—while their paychecks struggled to keep up. Come January, Republicans know exactly what we need to do.
We must make Michigan more affordable, starting with reversing the Democrats’ income tax hike. Instead of policies that double utility bills—as the previous majority did through a rushed “green new deal”—we’ll focus on driving down energy costs. We’ll double down on American-made energy, on innovation, and on emerging technology like small modular nuclear reactors. We’ll also work to return control of massive wind, solar, and battery projects back to local governments and local people, not unelected bureaucrats in Lansing.
We also need to get government spending under control to drive down inflation. In 2018, our state budget was around $56 billion. The budget passed this year was more than $83 billion. That money should be in the pockets of Michigan families, not tied up in pet projects or corporate giveaways to companies with ties to hostile foreign nations. The past two years of Democratic control brought an addiction to spending taxpayer money; our responsibility, our promise, is to break that cycle and bring back fiscal responsibility.
As we prepare to take on these challenges, I’m not just optimistic—I’m excited about what’s ahead. It’s morning in America again, and House Republicans are ready to lead. We’re ready to restore affordability, to empower our communities, and most importantly – deliver results. Together, we’ll build a Michigan that serves every resident of our great state.
