State Rep. John Reilly today led the Michigan House in approving a plan to honor veterans from the Orion community.
Reilly’s House Bill 5629 would designate the five-mile portion of M-24 in Orion Township between Indian Lake Road in the north and West Silverbell Road in the south as the “Orion Veterans Memorial Highway.”
“We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to the men and women who serve our country and defend our freedom,” Reilly said. “Dedicating this stretch of roadway to veterans in our community is one more way we can honor their service.”
The measure now advances to the Senate for further consideration.
