ABOUT THE REPRESENTATIVE

District
State Representative Sue Allor was first elected in November 2016 to the Michigan House to represent the people of Alpena, Presque Isle, Alcona, and Iosco counties, as well as part of Cheboygan County including the townships of Aloha, Benton, Burt, Ellis, Forest, Grant, Inverness, Mentor, Mullett, Nunda, Walker, Waverly and Wilmot.

Committees
Allor is on the House Appropriations Committee, where she is chair of the Agriculture & Rural Development/Natural Resources subcommittee. She also serves on the Appropriations’ subcommittee on Health & Human Services, and General Government.  Allor is also a member of the Health Policy committee.

Education
Allor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from University of Detroit-Mercy and a Masters of Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University.

Public Service
Allor served three terms as a Cheboygan County Commissioner. During her time in office she served on a variety of committees and boards including Cheboygan County Finance, Millage Appropriation, Area Agency on Aging, North Country Community Mental Health, District Health Department #4, Local Emergency Planning Committee, Northern Michigan County Association, and the Northeast Michigan Council of Service Associations (NEMCSA).

Professional
Allor worked as a nurse in several hospital units including maternity, surgical and cardiac step-down. She was also actively involved at the schools her children attended volunteering as a coach and mentor to students. Today, she and her husband own and operate a small collision repair business in Indian River and Petoskey.

Personal
Married for 40 years, Allor and her husband, Pat, live in Wolverine. Together they have three children and three grandchildren. As a member of the Cheboygan County Republican Party, she serves on the Executive Committee and is actively involved as Secretary/Treasurer. She has been a delegate to several State Conventions, and serves on the Lincoln Day Dinner Committee.
