ABOUT THE REPRESENTATIVE

District
Rep. Joseph G. Pavlov has served in the Michigan House of Representatives since January 2025. Joe represents the 64th House District, which includes Worth Township in Sanilac County and the city of Port Huron, part of the city of St. Clair, the townships of Burtchville, Clyde, Fort Gratiot, Grant, Kimball, and Marysville, and part of St. Clair Township in St. Clair County.

Committees
Joe serves on the House Agriculture Committee, the House Education and Workforce Committee, the House Election Integrity Committee, and the House Families and Veterans Committee.

Education
A lifelong resident of the Blue Water Area, Joe graduated from Marysville High School and then earned an Associate of Arts from St. Clair County Community College. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in communication education from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Oakland University.

Career
After graduating college, Joe became a teacher. He is passionate about instilling students with the skills and lessons they need to improve their lot in life and succeed. Joe enthusiastically taught English, speech, and drama at his alma mater, retiring after 38 years as a Marysville High School educator.

Family & Community
Joe and Marilynn, his wife of more than 50 years, reside in Smiths Creek. The Pavlovs have five children and 18 grandchildren. Joe worships and serves at his local parish, St. Christopher Catholic Church, and he has held many leadership roles in the Knights of Columbus. Prior to taking office as state representative, he served 12 years as president of Right to Life of St. Clair County. He is a life member of the National Rifle Association. In his spare time, Joe enjoys woodworking and gardening.

Priorities
Joe believes strongly in protecting the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Rooted in this foundational belief, Joe is committed to representing faithfully the will of the people he serves in Sanilac and St. Clair counties, so that everyone in his community can live free and pursue happiness according to their values.
