State Rep. Jason Woolford (R-Howell) was elected to represent the 50th District in the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2024 and assumed office in January 2025. His district includes most of Livingston County, including the City of Howell, the Village of Fowlerville, Howell Township, Marion Township, Unadilla Township, Iosco Township, Handy Township, Conway Township, Cohoctah Township, Deerfield Township, Osceola Township, Hartland Township, and parts of the Village of Pinckney, Putnam Township, and Tyrone Township.
Committees
Rep. Woolford is the Chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on State and Local Assistance Programs. He also serves on the House Families and Veterans Committee, the House Oversight Subcommittee on Weaponization of State Government, and the full House Oversight Committee.
Education
Rep. Woolford graduated from Howell High School in 1991 before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He received a Master’s Degree of Divinity from the Great Plains Baptist Divinity School.
History of Service
Rep. Woolford served in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1994. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton working on the Marine burial team and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal (E-4). In 2010, he was appointed president of a non-profit group called Mission Cry – Christian Resources International. The non-profit has sent over $480 million in free Bibles and Christian teaching tools to over 178 nations globally. Rep. Woolford also recently served as an at-large elector for President Donald Trump in the Electoral College.
Professional Background
After leaving the Marines, Rep. Woolford was the vice president of sales and marketing for both a marble and granite distribution company located in southern California and a global pizza dough company. He has continued his role as executive director of Mission Cry, though in a more limited capacity due to his elected office.
Personal
Rep. Woolford and his wife Maria have been married for over 30 years, and they reside in Howell. They have three children and five grandchildren.
