PHOTO INFORMATION: State Rep. Lana Theis, of Brighton, today testified on the need to prohibit procedures involving pelvic area penetration of minors without meeting certain conditions. Her testimony before the House Law and Justice Committee outlined requirements that the medical treatment be within the professional’s scope of practice, have another health care professional in the room during the procedure, and have written consent on a standardized form from a person authorized by law to provide consent, such as the child’s parent.
