Action Plan Executive Summary UpdateLegislative session begins again on Thursday, with House Republicans returning to Lansing to find solutions that will benefit all Michigan families. Focused on checking items off their Action Plan, House Republican leadership has worked tirelessly to create a brighter future for our state, and with less than two months remaining in the 2013-2014 term, several items from the Action Plan will be up for consideration, including:

Get Michigan Working

A bill allowing Michigan veterans to use their experience and training in uniform as they work toward gaining certain occupational licensing. This is the latest in a series of bills giving veterans more opportunities to find work once they return to our state after serving our country.

A Brighter Future for All

While new laws were signed by the governor to improve the direct placement adoption system, several bills further improving the adoption process and giving foster families more resources are still awaiting action in the Senate. By improving the adoption process and giving foster families additional help, more children in Michigan will have a better chance at a brighter future.

Get Michigan Moving

Finding a permanent and adequate way to fund transportation repairs is still a top priority for House Republicans. While Republican leadership has invested more than $800 million in current resources in fixing our roads, there is still a lot to be done to reform transportation funding.

Government of the People

Auto insurance costs are far too high and serve as an extra burden on all Michigan residents. House Republicans have come up with a proposal to lower the cost of insurance in Michigan, while still providing best-in-the-nation care for our those who have been injured in auto accidents.

Government for the People

House Republicans have worked throughout this year on proposals brought to them by constituents. For the remainder of the legislative session, they’ll continue to listen to and work relentlessly for the citizens they serve.

Under Republican leadership and with the House Republican Action Plan as a guide, Michigan is continuing on the path to a brighter future.
