State Representative Bruce Rendon of Lake City was first elected in November 2010 to the Michigan House and represents the residents of Missaukee, Crawford, Kalkaska, Roscommon, and Ogemaw counties. He was re-elected to a third term for the 2015-16 Michigan Legislature.
Rendon serves as the chair of the Committee on Tourism and Outdoor Recreation. He also serves as vice chair of the Committee on Natural Resources, and as a member of the Committees on Agriculture and Commerce and Trade.
Rendon earned an associate’s degree from Ferris State University in Architectural Design and Drafting.
Rendon has been owner and operator of Rendon Quality Construction, Inc. for 28 years in Lake City. He began in the building business under his father, worked for Blink Lumber Company for 11 years and launched his first construction business with a partner in 1982. He has served as president of the Northwest Michigan Home Builders Association three times, been Regional Vice President for two years, an appointee to the MAHB Executive Committee and the MAHB’s Secretary/Treasurer. In 2004, Bruce served as president of the Michigan Association of Home Builders, the third largest state building association in the country. He continues to be a Life Director, a voting member of the Executive Board of Directors, voting member of the Legislative Committee, and a voting member of the Insurance Committee at MAHB.
Bruce has been married to Daire Moore Rendon for more than 38 years. They have two daughters, and three grandchildren. They established Renmoor Jersey Farm in 1988 to raise and show Jersey cattle, which they have marketed at prestigious shows throughout the Midwest and Canada. Rendon is recognized as an official dairy cattle judge at county, state, and international dairy shows. He has served as President of the Michigan Jersey Cattle Club and is a Director of that Association, as well as serving on the Michigan Purebred Dairy Cattle Association Committee. He and his family attend St Stephen’s Catholic Church in Lake City.
